Meet the Guides
The quality of guides can make or break a fishing trip. We are fortunate to have some of the best professional guides on the Miramichi. Our guides know our waters intimately and will help you choose the right fly to suit the water and weather conditions. Tuckaway guests will experience Atlantic salmon fishing at its best.

Dan Bullock
Dan has been fishing since he was 4, and became a guide at 18. His start was at Tuckaway, his guiding travels have taken him to the Ponoi River in Russia in '92, with stops at Camp Thomas in Blackville in '94 and '95 ( better known as Mountain Channel), Burnt Hill Salmon Lodge and back to Tuckaway since 2002. His other interests include snowmobiling, grouse hunting and hockey. His favorite fly is " Green Butt Bear" .

Renate Bullock
Renate has established herself as not only an excellent guide, but also renowned fly tier. She adopted guiding as her profession in 1986. Since that time, (all with Tuckaway), she has become very well known and respected in the salmon fishing community. In February 2003 she was featured on CBC’s television series “On the Road Again” with Wayne Rostad. She also is the developer of the highly successful RBM Muddler (which is naturally her favorite salmon fly).
Vince Swazey
He started fishing at five years of age and at nine was guiding fishermen, poling a canoe and taking his “sports” to the fishing pools. Vince continued to guide until he was through high school. Then for a few years, he tried many different jobs in New Brunswick & Ontario. . . always returning home to the Miramichi River at every opportunity. By 1961, he decided there was no place better than being near the river and returned home to the Miramichi to raise a family, & make a living at what he loved most. That spring, he took over management of Tuckaway Lodge, a business his father had started in 1938.
